Julia Marton-Lefèvre"There is no doubt that we must address the importance of properly valuing what Nature gives us as our life support. The World Forum comes at the right time for this key aspect of humanity’s future development. I hope to see you in Edinburgh."

Julia Marton-Lefèvre, Director General, IUCN

The International Union for Conservation of Nature is a partner in this groundbreaking event and we invite you to join us to participate in these vital discussions. You can view Julia's #NatCap13 Message to Business Leaders here. You can also read an opinion piece "The natural capital debt bubble" by Jonathan Hughes, Programme Director for the World Forum, IUCN Councillor and Director of Conservation at the Scottish Wildlife Trust, on the Sustainability Portal at

IUCN was the Stream Leader for the 'Natural Capital: A Collaborative Framework' stream. This stream explored topics including what synergies exist between public and private sector natural capital accounts. It also looked at how sectors can collaborate to achieve progress, discuss the implications of natural capital accounting going beyond borders and identify what needs to happen next.
